Celebrating 10 Years of American Pan Southern Europe: Built on Trust, Driven by People

At American Pan, our story has always been about more than bakeware. It is about people, partnerships, and the passion behind every operation that supports the baking industry worldwide. Few locations reflect those values more clearly than our Southern Europe facility in Barcelona, Spain.

On 5 June 2026, the team in Barcelona proudly celebrates an important milestone—10 years of serving bakeries across the region from its facility in Barcelona.

Over the past decade, the operation has grown into a trusted partner for industrial bakeries throughout Southern Europe, providing high-quality pan coating and recoating services while building long-lasting customer relationships grounded in reliability, collaboration, and service.

At the center of this journey is Josep Busquets, co-founder of the site and current Managing Director. Together with collaborators Domingo Perez and Alejandro Gonzalvez, Josep helped establish the operation from the very beginning and played a key role in shaping what the Barcelona facility is today. Josep and Domingo have also shared a professional relationship and friendship spanning more than 30 years, built on mutual trust, experience, and a shared passion for serving the baking industry. Domingo’s dedication, technical knowledge, and steady presence have been instrumental in the growth and success of the operation over the years.

Shortly after the company was founded, Sonia Parra joined the team—just eight months into the operation. Over the years, Sonia has become one of the driving forces behind the site and an essential part of the day-to-day success of the business. In 2019, Dario de Prato joined as Director of Sales for the region, further strengthening American Pan Southern Europe’s customer relationships and regional presence. The team is also supported by Jose Gracia, Sales Manager for Portugal and Spain, whose discipline, charisma, and strong customer relationships continue to contribute to the success and growth of the region.

While the facility has evolved over the years, one thing has remained constant: the culture Josep has built within the team.

Known for his coating expertise, leadership, and deep understanding of the industry, Josep has always believed in leading with respect and collaboration. He has created an environment where people are valued, teamwork comes naturally, and employees feel supported like family. That culture continues to define the Southern Europe team today and is reflected in the strong commitment and dedication of the entire team.

In Josep’s own words, the success of the past 10 years belongs to the people behind it: “My most sincere thanks to all the people who have accompanied me over these 10 years. I may have led this team, but the success is entirely yours. Congratulations!!!”

From the start, the facility has specialized in pan coating and recoating services for American Pan’s advanced coating technologies, including DuraShield®, OptiShield®, and FlexiCoat. Through these solutions, the team helps bakeries improve pan performance, optimize release, and extend pan life—supporting efficient production operations across a wide range of baking applications.

Over the last 10 years, the site has continued to grow alongside its customers and the evolving needs of the baking industry. What began as a small operation built by a dedicated team has become an important part of American Pan’s global network. Today, the site also proudly contributes to the broader mission and global capabilities of Bundy Baking Solutions.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we also celebrate the people behind it—the individuals whose hard work, experience, and commitment have made these first 10 years possible.

Congratulations to the entire American Pan Southern Europe team on this remarkable milestone! Here’s to the next chapter ahead!
