Gil Bundy, President, American Pan
As president of American Pan, Gil Bundy is the company's lead visionary, setting operations goals and charting where the company needs to be to capture new market share.

Gil was brought up in Pittsburgh, PA and later Columbus, Ohio. After earning an Economics degree from Denison University, he traveled the world as a tour director for the travel company E.F. MacDonald. "It was a wonderful opportunity to learn first-hand what it takes to deliver customer satisfaction," Bundy said. "I also learned a great deal about how to interact with people from many different cultures."

Gil joined the family business in 1982 when his father, founder Russell T. Bundy, decided to expand into the pan glazing market. Gil's first assignment was to set up a new production plant, from site selection to ramping up operations, for the coatings division of the business. The result was Pan-Glo's first production plant in New Jersey, opened in 1984.

In Gil's view, the industry continues to evolve as baking connected to eating out overtakes the products made for eating at home. So the industry will continue to adapt to restaurant baked good health conscious eating and small, specialty bakeries. He believes American Pan is poised to expand to serve commercial baking industry not only domestically, but also expanding southward to Mexico, and on to Central and South America. "Our hope is to continue to grow our infrastructure to serve the global baking market, beginning with the European markets," he said.

Gil believes the industry itself is a wonderful, very close-knit group of genuine and sincere people. "It's one big family, really‹I love working with people," he said. "I make certain that we acquire, develop and retain the wonderful talent that we have. I tell them all to be very straight-forward and honest about what we can do for our customers. Show them how we can help them enhance their operations."

When not on the road meeting a demanding schedule, Gil most enjoys spending time with his family. Although he still loves traveling, golf, skiing, and the beach are his current favorite pastimes.
