Curt Marino, Vice President of Operations, American Pan
As vice president of operations, Curt Marino is responsible for overall plant management. Family connections eventually brought him to American Pan, but his early ambitions were in engineering. Curt was educated at University of Pittsburgh, earning a BS in Civil Engineering in 1989. After graduation, he landed a Civil Engineering position with Greiner, Inc., in Riverside, California. There he was responsible for land development and Caltrans projects.
Curt's engineering background instilled in him a healthy respect for professionalism and accountability. As a manager he strongly believes in providing positive, effective leadership. Curt greatly admires the industry and loves what he does for its direct influence on feeding America. "I think the future of the baking industry is very positive. Bread is the cornerstone of the American diet and will continue as a major industry." Curt's continued operational goal is to help keep American Pan on the path of continued growth and profitability.
If Curt were not in the baking industry, his professional aims might have eventually taken him into education: he says he might have enjoyed becoming a high school math teacher and a baseball or wrestling coach.
Away from the business, Curt remains busy with his family and home improvement projects.
